Bleeding gums are no reason to brush more gently
When the gums bleed while brushing, many people brush there less. That is understandable and exactly the wrong way round: healthy gums do not bleed. The bleeding comes from inflammation, and the inflammation comes from plaque that has been left behind.
Brushing that spot less often leaves more plaque behind. The inflammation grows stronger, and so does the bleeding. The way out runs in the other direction: thoroughly, but without pressure, and above all without skipping the spaces between the teeth.
If the bleeding lasts longer than two weeks, it belongs at the practice. There is often more behind it then than a superficial inflammation of the gums.
