After the summer drink: wait half an hour

Lemonade, spritzers, iced tea: all of them are acidic, and acid dissolves minerals out of the enamel. Immediately afterwards the surface is soft — for about half an hour.

Reaching for the toothbrush during that time removes precisely the softened layer. Over the years this adds up to a loss of substance that no tooth builds back.

Better: rinse with water, wait half an hour, then brush. If you like, have a sugar-free chewing gum in the meantime — the flow of saliva speeds up the recovery.
