Finding a practice for prevention near you

Using the radius search you can find dental practices that state prevention as a focus. Enter a postcode or a town and choose how far you would be willing to travel.

How far is reasonable

A professional tooth cleaning is due once or twice a year, plus the check-up appointments. A journey of 20 to 30 minutes is regarded as usual. Anyone who needs a short rhythm – after periodontitis treatment, for instance – will value being close by more than someone who comes twice a year.

How to recognise a suitable practice

A dedicated prevention department with trained specialists – dental hygienists or prophylaxis assistants. An oral hygiene assessment at the start, so that progress can be measured later. Instruction on your own teeth rather than on a model. And an appointment that ends with an agreement on when the next one is due.
